Ashelen Vicuña joined Eyman Associates as a legal intern in January 2016, and returned to the firm on a full-time basis in September 2017 upon graduation from law school. Ashelen’s practice currently focuses on matters related to Medicaid financing and reimbursement. She specializes in tracking developments in state Medicaid waivers, particularly as it relates to delivery system reform, payment innovation, and Medicaid expansion. In addition, she is engaged in work on new opportunities in Medicaid managed care, and reimbursement for teaching and safety net providers.
Ashelen received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School where she served as Vice President of GW’s Student Health Law Association. Prior to joining Eyman Associates, Ashelen interned at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and at the EPA’s Office of Suspension and Debarment. Before law school, she worked as a managing editor for a developmental editing house, where she focused on US and world history textbooks.
