On January 22, 2018, the Senate passed a continuing resolution to reopen and fund the government through February 8, 2018. Included in the bill is a 6-year extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The final policy details surrounding the program mirror the deal struck between Senate Finance Chair Orin Hatch (R-UT) and the Committee’s Ranking member, Ron Wyden (D-OR), which passed in the House back in September.
