On June 11, 2021 the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published revised Reporting Requirements for recipients of Provider Relief Fund (PFR) payments. Notably, these revisions have impacted when funds must be used and reporting deadlines for some tranches of PRF funding. Originally, all PRF recipients were required to use their PRF funds by June 30, 2021 and were provided a 30-day window to complete the required reporting beginning July 1. Under its revised schedule, HHS will base deadlines on when a recipient received their payment, establishing four Payment Receipt Periods each with its own Use of Funds and Reporting deadline. Notably, funds received between April 10 and June 30, 2020 are still required to use their funds by the original June 30, 2021 deadline. Recipients also now have ninety days to complete their reporting requirements rather than the original thirty. The first Payment Period reporting window begins July 1, 2021.
