Estimated Cost of 5-Year CHIP Extension Lowered from $8 billion to $800 million

The Congressional Budget Office lowered its estimate of the costs of extending CHIP for five years under S. 1827 from $8 billion to $800 million due to the repeal of the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate.
